Your tour coordinator from Mitour is Gareth Williams, a former pupil at Gowerton Comprehensive School with over 16 years experience in sports tours and travel. Gareth will be available 24/7 to assist you throughout the pre-tour process, and then onto the trip itself.

DAY 1 | ARRIVE IN CAIRNS

Arrive into Cairns and meet your tour representative and transfer to your accommodation, if flight times allow, we will arrange a city orientation tour.

DAY 2 | CAIRNS

The first full day in Australia and we have arranged for the group to enjoy a cruise around the Great Barrier Reef with Reef Magic. Sit back and enjoy the 90-minute journey until you reach the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef, marvel at the array of wildlife that calls the reef their home, from jellyfish through to sharks.

DAY 3 | CAIRNS

Enjoy a day together as group taking in the sights, sounds and tastes of the historic city of Cairns. Prior to the British settlement, Cairns was inhabited by the indigenous, Aboriginal Yidinji people, and their native language is still preserved today. The city was used as a staging post during the second world war for launching operations into the Pacific.

DAY 4 | CAIRNS > BRISBANE

Depart your accommodation and head to Cairns International Airport for your flight to Brisbane. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your accommodation for an evening at your leisure.

DAY 5 | BRISBANE

Today your group will undertake a walking tour of Brisbane with a local guide. They will show you all of the historical points of interest within this beautiful city. Brisbane is capital and the most populated city in the state of Queensland and offers tourists some of the best beaches in Australia, as well as major landmarks and attractions. In the afternoon students will transfer to their billeting (if applicable) and enjoy an evening with their hosts.

DAY 6 | BRISBANE

Today is the day for the first fixture of your tour, arranged against a local side, you will be collected as a group and taken to the venue for the match. After the game and having enjoyed some post-match hospitality you will all be taken back to your accommodation.

DAY 7 | BRISBANE > SURFERS PARADISE

Enjoy some free time in Brisbane in the morning before transferring to the world-renowned Surfers Paradise for the next 24 hours. Upon arrival at Surfers Paradise students will transfer to their billeting (if applicable) and can enjoy an evening meal with their hosts.

DAY 8 | SURFERS PARADISE

Your second fixture of the tour against a local side, enjoy the match as well as the post- match hosting afforded to you. Enjoy the rest of the day together as a group in Surfers Paradise, with students returning to their billeted accommodation (if applicable) in the evening.

DAY 9 | SURFERS PARADISE > SYDNEY

Transfer from your accommodation to the airport for your flight to Sydney, upon arrival transfer as a group to your accommodation to enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure in one of the world’s greatest, cosmopolitan cities.

DAY 10 | SYDNEY

We have arranged for the group to enjoy a half day guided tour around the ‘Rocks’ area of Sydney. This historic neighbourhood sits in the shadow of the Sydney Harbour bridge and is well known for its array of street foods and handmade fashions. In the afternoon why not take in more of the city of Sydney by walking the harbour bridge or heading to the world-famous opera house?

DAY 11 | SYDNEY

After breakfast we want you to enjoy the last couple of hours in Sydney as a group before the student’s head to their billeting accommodation (if applicable) and enjoy an evening with their hosts.

DAY 12 | SYDNEY

Fixture number 3 today against a local side who will also offer hosting to both the playing and non-playing members of your party.

DAY 13 | SYDNEY > CANBERRA

After breakfast transfer from your accommodation to Sydney airport for your internal flight to Canberra. Upon arrival in Canberra you will initially transfer to the AIS (Australian Institute of Sport) for a guided tour around these world class facilities. The AIS was opened in 1981 and offers scholarships to athletes across 36 programs in 26 different sports, with names such as Ricky Ponting, Mark Viduka and John Eales having passed through their doors in this time. Set in over 150 acres of land, this famous institution continues to produce some of the world most sports men and women.

DAY 14 | CANBERRA

Fixture number 4 today against a local side who will also offer hosting to both the playing and non-playing members of your party.

DAY 15 | CANBERRA > MELBOURNE

After breakfast you will depart your accommodation and transfer to the airport for your final internal flight to Melbourne. Upon arrival in Melbourne students will transfer to their billeted accommodation (if applicable) and enjoy an evening with their hosts.

DAY 16 | MELBOURNE

Today is your fifth and final match of your tour, against a local side who will provide you with hospitality after the game.

DAY 17 | MELBOURNE

After breakfast, take a morning graffiti tour of the city to learn more about its artistic background. You can then visit the Eureka Skydeck for panoramic views across the city before heading back to your accommodation.

Depart Melbourne and transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
