Your tour coordinator from Mitour is Gareth Williams, a former pupil at Gowerton Comprehensive School with over 16 years experience in sports tours and travel. Gareth will be available 24/7 to assist you throughout the pre-tour process, and then onto the trip itself.

DAY 1 | ARRIVE IN AUCKLAND

Arrive into Auckland and meet your tour representative and transfer to your accommodation, if flight times allow, we will arrange a city orientation tour and admission to the Skytower.

DAY 2 | AUCKLAND

The first full day in NZ and we have arranged for the group to visit some of the beautiful West Coast beaches. These are some of the most popular and picturesque stretches of sand in the Southern hemisphere and will give you all a welcome opportunity to blow away the cobwebs from your long-haul flight and savour the surroundings West of Auckland. Late in the day you will participate in your first tour fixture (opposition TBC).

DAY 3 | AUCKLAND - TAURANGA

The group will head to the home of All Blacks rugby for a visit to the iconic Eden Park, take in a tour of the stadium, learn the famous Haka and then perform it on pitch! Afterwards travel to Tauranga, the harbourside city in the Bay of Plenty region of the North Island. Upon arrival the group will have the opportunity to meet with their billeting* families who will house them for the next 2 nights.

DAY 4 | TAURANGA

Climb to the summit of Mount Maunganui and enjoy the breath-taking views of the harbour, beaches and Pacific Ocean. The peak stands 230 metres above sea level and offers a choice of ascents, some more challenging than others, so, pick your route and see you at the top! Later that day the second fixtures are scheduled for the group.

DAY 5 | TAURANGA - ROTORUA

Head just 10 minutes out of Tauranga to the Waimarino Adventure Park for a fun filled day as a group, there is kayaking, rock climbing, pedal boats and even a high ropes course for you all to enjoy before departing and heading to Rotorua for a Mitai Evening cultural show and traditional Hangi meal.

DAY 6 | ROTORUA - TAUPO

It’s time to enjoy a never to be forgotten return journey on the famous Rotorua Skyline, Jump on board one of the eight-seater Gondola cabins and experience spectacular views of Lake Rotorua, the city and steaming geothermal vistas. Once up on top, you can enjoy your 5 Luge rides. Before heading off to your third fixture, and then onwards to the lakeside town of Taupo.

DAY 7 | TAUPO

Take on the mighty Tongariro River White Water Rafting, with over 50 heart pounding, roller coaster rapids to negotiate all under the watchful eye of a master helmsman to guide you through. Then enjoy some free time as a group, taking in your surroundings.

DAY 8 | TAUPO - PALMERSTON NORTH

Enjoy a morning scenic cruise to witness the famous Maori rock carvings before travelling to Palmerston North in the Wellington area of the North Island. You will also meet up with your billeting families for the next 2 nights’ accommodation.

DAY 9 | PALMERSTON NORTH / WELLINGTON REGION

Match day 4 against opposition from the Wellington/North Palmerston region.

DAY 10 | PALMERSTON NORTH - WELLINGTON

Head into Wellington and enjoy a guided tour of the Te Papa Museum. This is the national museum of New Zealand with collections showcasing the Maori and Pacific cultures, local botany, zoology and art. Later, enjoy some free time in the city of Wellington.

DAY 11 | WELLINGTON - KAIKOURA

After breakfast you will take the ferry from Wellington and head to the South Island finally arriving in Kaikoura. Kaikoura is a coastal town on the South Island of New Zealand. It’s known for its abundant wildlife. The Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway winds from the town centre to lookout points at Point Kean.

DAY 12 | KAIKOURA - CHRISTCHURCH

Get out on to the ocean and enjoy the Whale watching trip, getting up close with one of the most famous mammals in the New Zealand ecosystem. After returning to shore you will all travel to Christchurch and meet your billeting families for the next 2 nights.

DAY 13 | CHRISTCHURCH

It’s the 5th match day against local opposition and then onto the Willowbank Sanctuary for a guided tour. Willowbank showcases one of New Zealand’s best displays of native species. Willowbank was the first to open a glass-free nocturnal house for kiwi in a natural environment, guaranteeing viewings every time.

DAY 14 | CHRISTCHURCH - OAMARU

As a group you will travel to Oamura, stopping enroute for an interactive session at the Maori Rock Art Centre and to explore it’s exhibits, before enjoying an evening informative penguin colony viewing.

DAY 15 | OAMARU - DUNEDIN

Travel to Dunedin with stops enroute including the Moreaki Boulders and then on to your 6th match of the tour. In the evening you can all attend a local, professional sports fixture at the local stadium (subject to scheduling).

DAY 16 | DUNEDIN - QUEENSTOWN

Travel to Queenstown, the thrill seekers capital of NZ and take a ride on the ‘Thunder Jet’ as 25 minute, high octane jet boat ride on the Queenstown lake before enjoying some free time as a group in the city of Queenstown.

DAY 17

Your final full day in New Zealand, so, spend sometime enjoying the sights and sounds of Queenstown, or enjoy some more of the adrenaline pumping, thrill seeking activities this part of the world is famous for.

Depart Queenstown and transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
