A blend of nostalgia and excitement awaits at Calgary Olympic Park – the site of the 1988 Winter Games. See the ski jump where the legend of Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards was made. Then move on to the bobsleigh track where the Jamaican team produced the storyline for ‘Cool Runnings’. Better yet, you can ride the track on a rolling sled and experience the adrenaline rush for yourselves!
After breakfast at the hotel it’s time to board the coach and head for Jasper, Alberta.
Upon arrival, you’ll check in to the Mount Robson Inn (or similar), accommodation for the next 2 nights of your trip.
You’ll then be taken to the famous Jasper Sky Tram which will take you 740ft above sea level to the Upper Station. Drink in the breathtaking, panoramic view of the Rocky Mountains before dinner at the Summit restaurant. Then it’s back outside where the Jasper Planetarium will provide the user of powerful telescopes to stargaze from one of the most impressive spots on earth.
You’ll be taken to Fraser River for a White-Water Rafting trip. After a short portage around the thundering Rearguard Falls, continue down the river, splashing through large rapids dwarfed by steep canyon walls.
Then it’s back to dry land for a hike along the Skyline Trail. Spectacular scenery and beautiful wildlife make this an unforgettable experience.
After breakfast, it’s time to board the coach and head in the direction of Kamloops, BC. Stop for lunch in Clearwater and enjoy the sights and sounds of Wells Gray Provincial Park. Then it’s back on the coach and into Kamloops. Check in at the Country View Motor Inn (or similar) for the next two nights of your trip.
The evening brings the second match of the tour with a friendly against local opposition and post-match hospitality.
A day of adventure awaits. If you’ve never zip-lined over a waterfall, then you will have by lunchtime. The Treetop Flyers tour at Chase Canyon gives you a bird’s eye view of nature’s beauty with a healthy dose of adrenaline thrown in. Top things off with a swing out across the canyon and for the feeling of complete freedom, a free-fall drop. Your group will have the facility to themselves, so no long queues and unlimited fun!
In the evening, experience some genuine ‘Canadiana’ with a playoff game of junior hockey (season permitting).
Another scenic coach journey will give you awe-inspiring views of the Rockies and the mighty Fraser River. Upon arrival into Vancouver, check in at Sheraton Guilford (or similar accommodation) for the next 3 nights of your trip.
Your afternoon will be spent at the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, High above the Capilano River where you can go treetop trekking and cliff-walking through rainforest vegetation.
Spend the day at Grouse Mountain, a stunning site overlooking the city of Vancouver. A wide variety of sights and activities are available here, including a lumberjack show, grizzly bear habitat and the trip ip the first working wind turbine to incorporate a behind-the-scenes viewing pod.
Spend the morning Aboard the ‘Ocean Magic’ on the Salish Sea, touring around beautiful islands. You’re likely to spot up to 3 species of whale, as well as orcas, porpoises and sealions.
After a waterfront lunch, it’s off to Game 3. A fixture against local opposition, with post-match hospitality.
